Laura Considine attends the first Meeting of States Parties to the TPNW
This week, Dr Laura Considine is in Vienna attending the first Meeting of States Parties (1MSP) of the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW). Taking place between 21st and 23rd June, States parties to the TPNW have gathered in Vienna for the 1MSP to develop concrete actions on a range of issues from universalisation of the TPNW, to its complementarity with the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT).
President of the meeting, Ambassador Alexander Kmentt, has spoken to students at the University of Leeds in both 2019 and 2021 for Dr Considine's module on global nuclear politics.
